November 15 is opening day for deer season back in my home state of Michigan. It is a holiday of sorts with schools closing and the larger towns deserted. Small back woods communities however come alive. It is an exciting time really. Old friends come together often just this one time a year. I will be heading back and lifting a beer as well.
