New DNR regulation on Ice shacks

A change went into affect this year that isn't in the standard fishing reg booklet. Portable shelters that are removed from the ice when not in use will no longer require a fish house license. This will save all of us ice fisherman that use portables a few dollars this winter. Permanent houses that are left on the ice unattended will still require the license. I agree with DNR --- since the houses are portable they shouldn't have to have a permit, especially the tent type of fishing shelter since no one is going to leave their tent anyway lest it be stolen.
