I have been a little behind in my entires for ice fishing this year. I have been updating my fishing report page on SportSmithFishing.com though so make sure you go over there from time to time. To be honest I haven't been out too many times. I have found my typical bluegills hanging on weed lines in some of my standard metro lakes. I also found some decent crappies suspended 15-18 feet down over 22-25 feet of water on Minnetonka. The bite was best right at dusk and into the early evening. Larger bluegill were also mixed in but disappeared from the catch as soon as the sun set.
One outing I saw a nice Largemouth on the camera but didn't have any shiners with me to entice him with. He didn't seem to interested in the tiny maggot that the bluegills kept engulfing. I haven't set any tip ups for northerns yet but will most likely give that a shot this weekend.

Fishing reports have been coming in from all over the state and general consensus is that fishing has been good. Ice is thick enough to drive on almost everywhere. Deep snow contributed to some slushing issues on northern lakes but below zero temperatures over that past week will most likely fix that. Check local conditions before heading out.
